The licenses are good for 12 months. Using my MCP status, I am going to use my licenses to set up a proof-of-concept for my peers and management for our Hyper-V environment. Today, we are still treating VMs as physical servers when it comes to backup so I hope to show the value-add of having Veeam for faster, more-efficient backups and very quick recoveries.
A network engineer with over 13 years in the IT field, I hold certifications from Microsoft, Citrix, Websense, and Comptia.
My main focus is the design, installation, and troubleshooting of Microsoft servers and applications on Dell, HP, and Cisco UCS rack-mount and blade servers as well as virtual servers on Hyper-V clusters.
Other primary responsibilities include administration of Websense Security Gateway V10k appliance clusters and administration of EMC Clariion, VMAXe, and Centera fibre channel SAN environments.
Secondary duties involve administration of Citrix MetaFrame 4.5 and XenApp 6 farms as well as managing EMC Networker disk-to-disk backups of all servers to Data Domain appliances as well as desktop/laptop backups of select systems to Avamar appliances.
I have been involved in developing a managed services division and have experience with Kaseya and LPI as well as general MSP best practices.
In addition, I also have experience with Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, and SCVMM system management applications.
