Have you ever wanted to try out a product or see new features of a software package you already use? That is exactly what the Hands on Labs are for! Most things these days can be virtualized, but many vendors just do not have the infrastructure in place to preview there products where you actually get to press the buttons and kick the tires. Other times maybe you want to try out a multi-vendor solution, but who wants to wait while demo gear is approved and acquired… that could take weeks or months.
I’m starting small but plan to add more and more labs as time and interest allow, but in the end the goal is for you to be able to login to a safe, consequence free, environment and explore a product as much as you want; and when your done there is no mess to clean up or parts to send back. As an added bonus you also get to preview some really cool technologies you might be hearing about… but aren’t sure what they do, including VMware View and VMware vCloud Director. Without those two products a lab like this would not be possible, so while you are taking you lab make sure to pay attention to the delivery platform too!
